In Hyperborea there are four endings for the base game and five endings for the Dark Omens Expansion.

Base Game Endings

Freedom Ending

Summary

The default ending of Hyperborea. Progress through the game as normal. You may choose whether or not to complete the Optional Areas. After defeating the final boss, enter the immediate portal to Serinden.

Ending Text

The Abstraction Gates have shattered, severing the link to the Nameless Realm.

The chaos recedes from this world, and the Umbral Mark relinquishes your soul.

Though certain nightmares echo in your mind, your fate is now your own.

Ending Scene

Sister Ciarn: What's going on up here, Ame?

Sister Amelia: I think we might have hit something?

Sister Ciarn: Why are we taking this route anyways? This will take longer to get to the rendezvous.

Mother Oofasu: We're stopping to meet with an old friend of mine at Asarem. This is the quickest way there.

Sister Ciarn: Quickest way? Doesn't it change location all the time?

Lady Terros: Not at the moment. Things have complicated since I was last here. A Valos base was breached, and it wasn't our doing this time.

Mother Oofasu: Just as Neylatru predicted, many forces are converging. The fate of Lyrstheim is uncertain. But together, we can turn the tides in Varn's favor.

Nightmare Ending

Summary

Progress through the game as normal, but complete each Optional Area fully, receiving all 3 Esoteric Knowledge. After defeating the final boss, go down the stairs to enter the portal to Itzhotep.

Ending Text

The Abstraction Gates have shattered, severing the link to the Nameless Realm.

But the chaos still swells. You have answered the call of the Wyrm, and entered the Nightmare City of Itzhotep.

Neither your vengeance nor your agony will know an end. Such is the fate of the Pursuer of Leng.

Ending Scene

Armo DR: What's happened?

The Servant: The nehushtan has arrived in Itzhotep.

Armo DR: Remarkable. Get them here as soon as you can.

The Servant: I'll make it so.

Armo DR: This is it. This is finally it.

The Servant: I believe so too.

Sublime Ending

Summary

A complex secret ending. Progress through the game normally until getting the Sanctum Whip in the Nameless Realm. Around two rooms after the whip, a path to the right will require grappling up multiple times until reaching the the Servant (NPC). Attack them to proceed.

After beating the Servant you will receive the Sublime Jelly and the Carcosan Moongun. Backtrack earlier into the area until you find an illusory wall with the Crafter NPC behind it. Normally they will give you a hint on how to find the Servant, but progress through their dialogue until they trade your Moongun (this can alternatively be the Altar Moongun acquired from the Intercessor) for the Wheel of Nails item.

Continue through the game normally until reaching the Court of Astarte. There's a door behind the area's Diabologue that can be opened using the Wheel of Nails. Read the blacksteel tablet at the end of the room, and then leave.

Continue normally until obtaining the Wings of Ash. In the sepulcher area there will be a room filled with Floaters and purple crystals. Turn around and an unmarked illusory wall will be on the wall in front of you. Dispel it and, if all steps were done correctly thus far, the wall behind you will be replaced with a hallway. Progress through the hallway and avoid dying to the Cosmic Egg. At the end, turn around and then enter the room ahead.

After beating Demon, you'll find a room with an antenna on the opposite side of the destroyed cavern. Enter the numbers 39842 in order into the pad to activate a sequence. Afterwards, leave through the door on the right.

After getting the Bone Whip, the gate on the opposite side of the big sepulcher room will have an unmarked illusory wall. Go through and use the Sublime Jelly to open the door to The Sublime Dark. Progress through the area until reaching a larger eye-like structure, which you will shoot with the Sublime Jelly.

Continue through the game as normal from here until beating the final boss. Push the Sublime Jelly in.

Ending Text

The Sublime Death is absolute.

There will be no more demons, ghouls, or slumbering titans.

There will be no souls to haunt these empty edifices.

All will be silent in the Nameless Realm but the rattling of its doors in the wind.

Their husks will remain, forever sleeping. For here, even Death has died.

World of Doors Ending

Summary

This ending can not be done while the Agony challenge mode is enabled.

In the first area of the game, find a cave in the outside area, on the opposite side of the staircase. Take the Warpometer.

Your goal from here is to obtain 20 Warp by the time you leave Glacious Station, which means you want to get at least 12 Warp by the time you fight the Lich. Refer to the Warp page for the various ways to get Warp. It does not matter which Warp sources you choose, only the value.

If you have done this correctly, the Lich fight will be replaced by the Mindflayer duo. If you have obtained 20 Warp by the time you leave Glacious Station, you will be taken to a different version of the Monument area. Talk to Theo DR and accept his request.

At the Emperor's Ridge area, progress forward and find a trapped illusory wall on the upper floor. Continue forward and speak with Theo again. After defeating the boss, speak to Theo one more time."

Ending Text

Do you feel lucky?

Ensnared within yourself,

Within a hallway of blood,

Swelling death,

You are the

Incorporeal Pus.

Think the words very, very clearly:

"A World of Doors."

Far away, lightning strikes a tower.

All of the doors are open now.

Locta's Sphinx spins the wheel,

and Poimandres chases his tail.

But You walk across the plane.

Observe Yourself.

Vasocomolentia?

No.

You know this feeling.

You always have.

Ending Scene

Theo: Remarkable. The egg of the shattered world. The state of this system is infinite.

Theo: I will be leaving Serinden. The caravan is yours, they can be the court of your Warped Monarchy. Or not. None of my concern.

Theo: Maybe we'll meet again. In another world, in another time, another form.

Theo: But for this point, nehushtan, this is a farewell.

Theo: Exchaten, azathoth scies.

Theo: Bye bye.

Dark Omens Endings

Theo: Oh gods, what are you?

Theo: Please, I-

Zenrir'ka: My sweet Theophrastus has come home to me.

Zenrir'ka: His mind is truly remarkable. So full of shame, guilt, spite, passion, love.

Zenrir'ka: I too, love. I love this little broken man.

Zenrir'ka: And I love you too, [player name].

Zenrir'ka: I see your earliest infant memories, your deepest secrets, I can see memories you've forgotten you have.

Zenrir'ka: I like the feeling of the inside of your brain.

Zenrir'ka: I need extraordinary minds to work as my shadows.

Zenrir'ka: I am... entangled. I can not roam Altan so freely.

Zenrir'ka: Even this temporary body is melting around my CHAOS.

Zenrir'ka: And from now on, you will be my shade.

Zenrir'ka: So you can help spread my endless love to...
